On February 16, 2026, at 2:55 p.m. in Şanlıurfa, traffic police conducting an inspection in the Cengiz Topel neighborhood attempted to impound a private public bus. Another bus driver, M.A.S., who arrived at the scene, recorded the female police officers with his cell phone and allegedly tried to prevent the vehicle from being impounded by insulting them. The Şanlıurfa Governor’s Office detained M.A.S. on charges of “resisting the performance of duty, violating privacy, and insulting.”
