Hundreds of people gathered in front of Günpaş Market in Van on February 15, 2026, to march. Police blocked the march, leading to brief tensions. TUHAY-DER Co-Chair Osman Başak linked the events of February 15, 1999, to regional and international developments and stated that Abdullah Öcalan’s ideas were influential. DEM Party MP Zülküf Uçar also criticized the practices targeting Öcalan. The group dispersed peacefully after the statement.
