An indictment was prepared against former Republican People’s Party (CHP) Parliament member and actor Berhan Şimşek due to his expressions, “The governor is a militant and the district governor is a militant as well” on a TV show he attended. The indictment was prepared with the Interior Ministry as the complainant, and claims for Şimşek to be sentenced to imprisonment for up to two years due to “denigrating the government.”
