ETHA reporter Pınar Gayıp was detained on February 3, 2026, as part of an operation carried out in 22 cities, and was arrested on February 5 on charges of “being a member of an armed terrorist organization” and “making organization propaganda.” The police made her reporting on protests, trials, and funeral ceremonies the subject of the charges. Gayıp denied the charges and stated that she was conducting journalistic activities. The Saturday Mothers also reacted to the arrest.
