Education Minister Yusuf Tekin announced on February 25, 2026, that he had filed a lawsuit against 168 intellectuals and artists who signed a statement titled “We Defend Secularism Together.” Tekin defended the Ramadan Circular as constitutional and lawful and described the statement as defamatory. The statement was signed by approximately 50,000 people.
