Two members of the SOL Party in the Gömeç district of Balıkesir were detained for hanging a banner reading “Secular Democratic Republic Against Sharia and Fascism.” In a statement issued by the SOL Party, it was noted that the detentions were carried out due to the banner action. The statement emphasized secularism and democracy and called for the release of those detained.
