Ramazan Başak, former Deputy Chairman of MASAK, was detained on April 8, 2026, on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information.” Detained by the Gendarmerie, Başak was taken to the police station as part of an investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and was reported to be on his way to the courthouse.
