An investigation was started against Ümit Özçelik, the son of 70-year-old Edibe Özçelik, who lost her life after having an attack during the police raid in Tekebaşı Neighborhood in Samandağ district of Hatay. The investigation was based on the news reported in the media on the lack of permission for investigation against the police officers, who were on duty in the raid that caused Özçelik’s death. A second search was made at the house of the Özçelik family following the order of the Prosecutor within the investigation. Ümit Özçelik described the raid and stated, “This time, they entered without breaking the door and said they were looking for digital materials. This means that house searches can be made in the morning as well, or that they can get a statement by sending a notice. They didn’t have to break the door like they did on January 17, when my mother had an attack.”
