Lawyer Şiar Rişvanoğlu was acquitted in the lawsuit filed against him due to “denigration of the Turkish Nation, the government of the Republic of Turkey, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the ruling power and the judicial bodies of the state” through a speech he gave at the 30th General Assembly of Adana Bar Association, that was organised in 2018. Rişvanoğlu was on trial at Adana 9th Assize Court due to his speech, in which he reacted against war, torture in prisons, dismissed academics, arrested workers at the third airport, as well as Contemporary Lawyers Association lawyers arrested once again by the same court 17 hours after having been released.
