Relatives of fallen soldiers and veterans attempted to march to the Ministry of National Defense in Ankara as part of their protest over employment and personal rights, but police blocked the march. When veterans sat on the road with their prostheses and crutches, police intervened and began putting demonstrators onto buses. Some veterans became ill during the intervention, and several young people who supported the protest were detained. İYİ Party Bursa MP Selçuk Türkoğlu, who was at the scene, also became ill during the intervention and was taken to hospital by ambulance. Türkoğlu later said his condition was good and alleged that he had been assaulted during the police intervention.
