Following a clash in Yalova that claimed the lives of three police officers, the General Directorate of Security, in coordination with the Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence units, conducted simultaneous operations targeting ISIS in 21 provinces. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced on December 30 that 357 suspects had been detained in operations stretching from Adana to Van. Authorities reported that intelligence indicated the suspects were preparing attacks during the New Year period. Three police officers were killed in the operation in Yalova, while six ISIS members were killed.
