YENİ Party Mayor Şeniz Doğan of Merkezefendi Municipality in Denizli, her husband Mehmet Ali Doğan and three other people were arrested as part of an investigation into the municipality. Thirteen people detained on 27 October in the investigation conducted by the Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office were referred to the courthouse after police procedures. Prosecutors requested the arrest of Şeniz Doğan and her husband Mehmet Ali Doğan, along with Gökhan Sarıkaya, Abdullah Hülagü, Yurdagül Okkacı and Hüdai Tirit. Judicial control was requested for the other seven people. The criminal judgeship of peace ordered the arrest of Mayor Şeniz Doğan, Mehmet Ali Doğan, Abdullah Hülagü, Yurdagül Okkacı and Hüdai Tirit. Gökhan Sarıkaya and the other seven people were released under judicial control.
