Police detained municipal employees R.Z., G.Ç. and Ö.G. on allegations that they demanded bribes in return for procedures at Kırıkkale Municipality. The Kırıkkale Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched the investigation after Y.K. complained that workplace and licensing unit technician R.Z. did not approve licenses without taking bribes. Prosecutors expanded the investigation with statements from contractors E.A., F.F. and F.B. Account examinations found that 1,056,880 TL entered R.Z.’s account in 180 transactions, 3,120,885 TL entered the account of zoning unit technician G.Ç. in 101 transactions, and 156,211 TL entered the accounts of property unit employee Ö.G. and his son in 100 transactions. Bank movements and a MASAK report supported the allegations. Police began searches at the municipality’s Zoning and Urban Planning Directorate and the suspects’ homes.
