Üsküdar Deputy Mayors Amine Cansu Çelik and Mithat Özdemir were detained to give statements as part of an investigation into the municipality. Municipal Council First Deputy Chair Ali Aral and Deputy Mayor Nihat Doğan were released after giving statements to prosecutors. Mayor Sinem Dedetaş had previously been arrested in the same investigation and removed from office by the Interior Ministry.
