Authorization was granted to investigate Gördes Mayor İbrahim Büke following a preliminary review into salary payments to municipal staff in the Gördes district of Manisa. The Gördes Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office subsequently launched a criminal investigation. The review report stated that staff salaries were paid after the statutory payment date, the 15th of the month, in 12 of the 21 months examined, and that some payments were delayed by up to one week. The report found that the financial units prepared payment orders on time, but that the documents were signed late by Mayor Büke.
