Özcan Aksu’s family, civil society organizations, and citizens made a statement in Muş calling for an investigation into his death in prison. DBP Muş Provincial Co-Chair Umut Yılmaz said Aksu’s death was suspicious and that all aspects of the incident needed to be clarified. DEM Party Muş MP Sümeyye Boz said Aksu died while under state custody and called for camera footage to be examined and those responsible to be identified. TUAYDER representative Nuriye Arslantaş alleged that there were signs of assault and torture on the body and demanded an investigation into the public officials responsible.
