Police launched an investigation after a clothed human effigy bearing a message said to contain an insult against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was left on a pedestrian overpass in the Nazilli district of Aydın. Police detained A.Y., who was alleged to have carried out the act, in the Altıntaş neighborhood. Judicial proceedings were initiated against A.Y. on charges of “insulting the President” and “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.”
