Bakırköy 1st Criminal Judicature of Peace issued an access ban on the news, entitled, “Father and son bound Bağcılar” published on the 18 March 2017 issue of Cumhuriyet Daily. The news reported information on the company Etkin Grup, founded by Justice and Development Party (AKP)’s 26th session MP Hasan Turan, receiving 11 tenders from Bağcılar Municipality between the years 2011 and 2016 with a total worth of 3 million TL. The judicature issued the ban due to ‘exceed of right to criticism limits’; the news published and shared on more than 60 websites and social media accounts were censored.
