The Ministry of the Interior has granted permission to launch an investigation into Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Akın over allegations of “irregular tendering.” The Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality stated that no payments were made from the municipal budget and that no public harm was caused. The municipality announced that it will appeal the decision to launch the investigation before the Council of State.
