The Bakırköy Chief Prosecutor’s Office has launched an ex officio investigation into CHP Chairman Özgür Özel over his statements regarding Justice Minister Akın Gürlek. The Chief Prosecutor’s Office argued that Özel’s remarks on a television program were “capable of disrupting public order and peace.” Özel had alleged that Gürlek was taking orders from President Erdoğan and had committed various irregularities.
