The first hearing in the case of journalist Cihan Berk, who was arrested in Dersim and subsequently detained on charges of “membership in an organization,” took place on April 15, 2026. The court ruled to extend Berk’s detention and postponed the next hearing to June 3. In his defense, Berk denied the charges and stated that his activities fell within the scope of journalism.
