Twelve of the 33 people detained in an investigation targeting the CHP-led Yenişehir Municipality in Mersin were arrested on April 15, 2026. It was reported that the suspects are being tried on charges of “bid-rigging,” “bribery,” and “extortion,” while 19 individuals were released on judicial supervision. Numerous properties and vehicles were also seized as part of the investigation.
