The Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation on March 25, 2026, into individuals who recorded footage during the hearings of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality case and shared it on social media. The prosecutor’s office stated that the footage, taken in the courtroom at Marmara Prison, was distributed without permission. The Chief Prosecutor’s Office instructed the Istanbul Police Department’s Cybercrime Unit to identify the perpetrators and the nature of the offense under Article 286 of the Turkish Penal Code.
