Access to the account named “Ajans Muhbir” operating on the social media platform X has been blocked. In a statement made by the account’s administrators, it was stated that they had recently been targeted by certain political Islamist circles with accusations of “acting as Israeli agents,” and that their account had been blocked on the basis of these allegations. The statement emphasized that accusing a media outlet that describes Israel as a “terrorist state” of “acting as an Israeli agent” has no legal basis. Media outlets close to the AKP claimed that the account made posts that “threatened national security” and “incited the public to hatred and hostility.” It was reported that the access ban was implemented by order of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office. It was recalled that Muhbir Agency manager Süha Çardaklı was arrested on similar charges in 2023 and released approximately four months later.
