Denizli Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office prepared an indictment against journalist Gökhan Öner, who was taken into custody and arrested on April 28th, due to ‘illegal organization membership’ and ‘making illegal organization propaganda.’
The indictment, accepted by Denizli 2nd Assize Court, considered Öner’s position at Dicle News Agency as evidence to ‘illegal organization membership.’ Öner’s social media posts, the books found at his house, news on his computer and letters he received from his friends in prison were also reasons for accusation. The indictment charges four others taken into custody together with Öner and later released with ‘making illegal organization propaganda’ due to the Kurdish songs on their phones and their social media posts.
