On this month’s meeting we discussed non-violent communication with a presentation by Birsen Atakan from Nonviolent Education and Research Association. Non violent communication can be an efficient method in conflict resolution aside from being one of the most important elements of nonviolence as a principle. We talked about the main tenets of nonviolent communication to articulate ourselves and to understand others better, to communicate more productively in the organization and decision making processes of the social movements and ways to bring in the mediation and non violent communication techniques into our civil society platforms.
