We discussed digital activism and security on April’s workshop

On this month’s meeting we  discussed citizen journalism, independent digital media, the use of social media for journalism and digital security.  Our speaker guests Ant Somers and Yakup Çetinkaya gave us presentations on their experiences in digital security, data visualization and its use for social media campaigns and livestreaming social movements; as recently the use of social media for communication and fact checking has become ever more important. The workshop gave us an opportunity in sharing our ideas on  the opportunities social media presents for monitoring the political processes and strengthening the rights advocacy.
