In an exhibition organised within the rector protests ongoing at Boğaziçi University, a picture of the Kaaba was combined with LGBTI+ flags. Afterwards, appointed rector Melih Bulu, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu, Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül and Director of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş targeted the students. Two of the four detained students were arrested, two students were sentenced to house imprisonment.
