Criminal organization leader Sedat Peker was acquitted of the charges imposed on him after threatening academics, who launched a petition during the curfews with the title, “We will not partake in this crime.” In an article he published on a website that belongs to him, Peker threatened the “Academics for Peace Initiative” members, who signed the petition, with the expressions: “We will make a bloodshed and we will bathe in your blood.” Peker was on trial due to these expressions with the charges of ‘threat’ and ‘incitement to crime’ at Istanbul Anatolian 20th Criminal Court of First Instance with a claim of imprisonment for up to 11 years.
