The hearings of two separate lawsuits against journalist Serdar Altan and Fuat Yaşar due to their social media posts were held at Diyarbakır 9th Assize Court.
The court sentenced Altan to 1 year, 6 months and 20 days of imprisonment due to ‘making illegal organization propaganda’ and deferred the sentence for five years. Yaşar, who was on trial with the same charge, was acquitted.
