An investigation was launched against two police officers who allegedly beat a person allegedly intoxicated at a gas station in Sancaktepe, Istanbul, and one police officer was suspended from duty. While the incident reportedly took place on the night of August 7, new security camera footage showed the person talking to the police officers, trying to be removed, then attacking the police officers, and the police officers knocking the person to the ground and hitting him. Istanbul Governorate announced that the procedural aspects of the incident were examined and a police chief inspector was requested.
