The first hearing of the lawsuit filed against Cumhuriyet Daily writer and film director Işıl Özgentürk due to her social media posts was held at Istanbul 28th Assize Court. The Prosecutor claimed for the penalisation of Özgentürk due to “making successive illegal organisation propaganda.” The second hearing of the lawsuit was scheduled for March 5, 2020.
