İYİ Party Deputy Group Leader Turhan Çömez shared with the public a written question he submitted to the Ministry of Justice on December 28 regarding MS patient Tayfun Kahraman, who has not been released despite the Constitutional Court’s ruling on rights violations and retrial. Çömez stated that Kahraman suffered an MS attack in Silivri Prison and that upon his return from the hospital, he was not given the neuropathic pain medication he needed to take regularly because “it was past the medication distribution time.” Çömez stated that no investigation had been launched into the allegations of “inhuman treatment” in the prison and that the Ministry had responded that “the district governor’s office had not given permission” as the reason. Çömez asked why the Constitutional Court’s decision had not been implemented and who would be responsible for the possible health consequences.
