Istanbul Technical University (ITU) Rectorate launched a disciplinary investigation against students, who protested for their right to shelter in the Central Classroom Building on October 18. In the letter sent to the students on the subject; the reason for the investigation was cited as hanging banners, shouting slogans and “occupying” the classroom building without permission.
