Dicle Fırat Journalists Association published its ‘January 2022 Report on Rights Violations Against Journalists’. According to the data of the report, at least 6 journalists were detained in a month; 2 journalists were arrested. In January, when 48 journalists were on trial in 33 separate cases, 6 journalists were prosecuted and a lawsuit was filed against 1 journalist. In Turkey, where 65 journalists are deprived of their freedom in prisons, access to 13 news sites and 50 news outlets was banned throughout January. Please click here for the full report.
