In the case of Cumhuriyet Daily, the Court of Cassation reversed verdicts of conviction previously issued due to “aiding a terrorist organisation.” Musa Kart, Güray Öz, M.Kemal Güngör, Hakan Kara and Önder Çelik; who were imprisoned on April 25th, were released. The verdict claimed only for journalist Ahmet Şık to be penalised due to “propaganda.” The file will be sent back to Istanbul 27th Assize Court. On the other hand, newspaper worker Emre İğer is still in prison due to the approval of his sentence.
