A detention warrant was issued against presenter Boğaç Soydemir and his guest Enes Akgündüz for commenting on the hadith “Drinking is the mother of all evil” in the YouTube program “Cold War”. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that an investigation was opened under Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code on the grounds that the remarks incited the public to hatred and hostility. Soydemir announced that he apologized on social media and the relevant part was removed from the broadcast.
