Istanbul 5th Criminal Judicature of Peace banned access to bianet’s two news articles on Ekrem İmamoğlu. “Ekrem İmamoğlu and many CHP members detained” and “IBB operation: Who is on the detention list?”, BTK sent an e-mail to bianet and asked for the content to be deleted within four hours. However, the court order was not served and it was not disclosed from whom the censorship request came. RSF Turkey Representative Erol Önderoğlu described the verdict as “argumentless and perfunctory” and said the public’s right to information was violated.
