A broadcasting ban was imposed on March 3, 2026, regarding an incident in which a high school student in Istanbul’s Çekmeköy district killed a teacher and injured another teacher and a student. In line with the decision of the Istanbul Anatolia 3rd Criminal Court of Peace, RTÜK announced that broadcasters must comply with the ban.
