Rojhat Babat, who was being held at the Kırşehir Type S Closed Prison, died at Kayseri City Hospital, where he was transferred on April 1, 2026. Prison authorities claimed that Babat was transferred to the hospital for psychiatric reasons and that he had committed suicide. The family stated that they were not provided with information regarding his health condition prior to his death and that they had previously seen an emergency intervention record on E-Nabız. DEM Party MP Nevroz Uysal Aslan, noting that information had been withheld during the process, demanded a full explanation of the death and the identification of those responsible.
