The Kurdish Theater Days, organized by People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Adana Provincial Organization, was banned due to threatening public safety. In the event planned to be organized on February 10-13, Amed City Theater’s play Tartuffe, Teatra Jiyana Nu’s play Tene Ez and Theater Mencel’s play Kozik were to be staged.
Simultaneous press statements were made on the matter in Adana, Istanbul, Diyarbakır and Var. The statement made by Amed City Theater said, “Are the plays of Moliere, Brecht more dangerous when staged in Kurdish? Or is the event being banned because it is organized by HDP?”
