The Freedom of Expression Association announced on 5 October that access had been blocked to at least 70 X accounts on the grounds of protecting national security and public order. The blocked accounts included those of finance and investment adviser Emre Şirin, journalist Yiğit Uzun, Whisper Haber owner Ümit Karaca, writer Nur Betül Aras, politician and columnist Levent Özeren, political economy and finance analyst Faruk Bakaç, political scientist Kağan Sarıkaya and digital publisher Bircan Yıldırım. X made many of the accounts unavailable in Türkiye.
