A lawsuit was filed on April 6, 2026, against journalist Evrim Deniz over a news report regarding the owners of the company responsible for the construction of a police station in Kulp, Diyarbakır. The prosecution charged Deniz, arguing that the information included in the report constituted “personal data.” Deniz, however, stated that she had obtained the information from the Turkish Trade Registry Gazette and that it was publicly available; it was announced that the trial would be held on June 23.
