The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office issued detention orders for 20 people accused of operating within FETÖ’s “covert police structure.” In simultaneous operations centered in Istanbul and carried out in six provinces, all 20 suspects, including five still serving in public office, were detained. The investigation was based on records in an “Police Covert Structure Analysis Report” on an SD card said to have been obtained from a secret witness codenamed “Garson.” Prosecutors alleged that the suspects had contact with members of the organization’s “covert” section and that sequential call records existed for some individuals.
