Human Rights Foundation of Turkey (TIHV) launched the second newsletter with the theme, “University Under State of Emergency Conditions.” The newsletter was prepared within the project, “Supporting Academics as Human Rights Advocates Under Difficult Conditions” and aims to inform both the national and the international public on the right violations against academics.
According to the data compiled by the foundation, the number of scientists dismissed with emergency decrees are 6081, with 2493 from the field of humanities and social sciences, 1886 from the health sciences and 828 from engineering. 29.4 percent of total dismissed academics have titles of doctorate and Ph.D, 27.5 percent are research members. 68 professors, 44 post-doctorate members, 102 assistant professors, 163 research members, 7 lecturers, 18 faculty members and 5 experts were dismissed in total.
