Academics for Peace Initiative started a campaign on the social media for passport restrictions to be revoked. The academics were dismissed with Statutory Decrees issued within the State of Emergency, charged with ‘making terrorist organization propaganda’ by signing the petition, “We will not partake in this crime” launched by the Initiative.
In the call for participation in the campaign, the initiative wrote, “We invite everyone to support the fight of peace academics, dismissed with emergency decrees, to revoke the threat of passport restrictions that prevent the freedom of travel.” Many social media users are sharing posts within the campaign, with the hashtag #PasaportlaraÖzgürlük [#FreedomforPassports].
