A police operation was carried out against the Etkin News Agency (ETHA) in Istanbul in the morning hours. During the operation, the agency’s door was broken down, the office was entered, and equipment was seized. During the raid, ETHA reporters Nadire Gürbüz, Pınar Gayıp, Elif Bayburt, Müslüm Koyun, and Züleyha Müldür were detained. At the same time, access to the agency’s digital accounts was blocked. It was reported that the operation was carried out as part of an Istanbul-based investigation targeting the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP). Numerous individuals, including ESP Co-Chair Murat Çepni, were detained. The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that detention orders had been issued for 110 individuals as part of the operation.
