A decision has been issued regarding Marmaris Mayor Acar Ünlü and CHP Muğla Provincial Youth Branch Chairman Nazım Şardoğan, who were tried on charges of protesting the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu. The Muğla 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance fined Acar Ünlü 46,600 TL for “publicly insulting a public official” but acquitted him of “resisting an official.” Nazım Şardoğan was fined 15,000 TL for “resisting an official” and sentenced to 1 year, 4 months, and 7 days in prison for “intentionally injuring a public official.” The court converted the prison sentence to probation under the suspension of sentence provision. The case was filed following a protest march held in front of the CHP Muğla Provincial Headquarters.
