Teacher Ayşe Çelik has been imprisoned due to saying, “Do not let children die” and was later released on May 4. It was revealed that the execution of Çelik was paused for six months and that she will be imprisoned once again in six months.
Çelik’s lawyer Mahsuni Karaman announced that they could only find out the content of the release verdict today. Kahraman stated that their claim for “supervised release” was not replied to and that the release verdict was issued due to their claim of “stay of execution.” According to the verdict, the stay of teacher Ayşe’s execution, who was imprisoned on April 20 at Diyarbakır Type-E Prison together with her six-month-old baby and was released on May 4, will end on October 31 and that she will be imprisoned once again.
The petition campaign started for Çelik continues until the Constitutional Court negotiates Çelik’s case from the basis, issues a retrial and Çelik’s conviction is reversed with “acquittal.” More than 24 thousand signatures were collected in the campaign so far, with a target of 100 thousand signatures.
