There are many who continue to protest for their jobs back on Yüksek Street in Ankara after being dismissed from profession with emergency decrees. One such protester, Nazan Bozkurt, was taken into custody on March 19 after protesting for more than 500 days, while supporting another dismissed public worker Mahmut Konuk in front of his workplace. Visuals of her being taken into custody was recently revealed.
In the visuals recorded by the camera of the police, Bozkurt is seen dragged on the floor and exposed to fist punches by police officers; forced to enter the police vehicle. Following the custody, the police officer recording the custody process is told to “erase it afterwards.” Teacher Acun Karadağ, who was also dismissed from public service with an emergency decree, announced on Twitter that they made a criminal complaint against the police officer demanding the visuals to be erased; whereas no lawsuit was filed.
